This application lets you monitor, manipulate, and capture the system color palette.
MENU
File:
- Open: Open an 8-bit bitmap file and apply its palette to the system.
- Save As: Save the system palette as an 8-bit bitmap or as a text file.
- Exit: Exit the application.
Edit:
- Copy: Copy the system palette to the clipboard (where you can look at it).
- Clear: Clear the system palette.
View:
- Set Columns: Specify the number of color tile columns.
- Toggle Border: Draw a border around color tiles.
- Shrink to Fit: Shrink the window to fit the grid size.
Help:
- Contents: Display this window.
- About OPal: Display information about this product.
EXAMPLES
(A) To inspect the color of a pixel anywhere on the desktop, press the mouse button over the OPal window, then drag the cursor to the targeted pixel without releasing the button.
(B) To capture the palette of another application, click on its window to activate it, then return to OPal and select either the Copy or the Save As command.
(C) To create graphics using the palette of another application, capture its palette and save it as a bitmap. You can then acquire the palette of the bitmap by loading it into your favorite graphics editor.
